We all have those days. You know the ones I am talking about. The days where you question every little thing that happened and just ask "why?".
"Why does this always happen to me?"
or
"Why didn't this work out?"
or
"Why does everything have to be so hard?"
Back in they day I never really believed anyone when they said "Everything happens for a reason..". I would simply just roll my eyes and say "yeah ok, what good could possibly come from this?", because at the time I couldn't see any positives from a bad situation. But you know what. That is NORMAL! It is normal for our first instinct when something hasn't gone right for us to say "Why?" or "Why Me?". However I have only made the realization over the last few years that most things in our life happen for a reason. Good and Bad.
Think back to a not so great time in your life. Maybe it was a breakup, a failed test or exam, loosing a race, not getting that job interview. All of those things you have experienced has shaped you into the person you are today. You have survived, you have pushed through and maybe it has made you change a few things about yourself for the better. It is okay if not EVERYTHING pushed you to make a change, but without knowing it, it has taught you something...and maybe that was what you needed. You needed to learn, to experience, to love, to help shape you into the person you are today.
Me personally, I know that everything in my life that I have experienced has happened for a reason and that everything that is meant to be will be. So much so that I literally have the following tattooed on my ribs so that I never forget it:
"No matter how unattainable, unimaginable or impossible something may seem, if it is meant to be then it will be it'll be"
It is hard to think about the positives when such bad things happen in our lives, but it is important to reflect on each experience and believe that you will learn something from each one. If that is to love harder, live smarter, be better, dream harder or maybe simply push harder only you will know what is good for you and what good you should bring to the world after experiencing hurt and sadness.
But I really believe that everything does happen for a reason. Even the people that come into your life. Every single person in your life has helped shape you into the person you are. Every interaction, every smile, every moment has initiated a response in you that you were meant to experience, maybe for the better or for worse. Either way it has shaped you.
Never take anything for granted and know that everything may happen for a reason, even when you don't suspect it.
