Rule 1. Make your journey YOUR journey.

Every footstep has a story. Think about when you were last at the beach, did you see footsteps in the sand? Think about the number of people that have walked that sand and actually created that stamp of their foot with their presence. Every step is a different, shape, size, depth and that is because, well you guessed it. We are all different.

Growing up I wanted what every little girl wants...to basically be a princess, and not just ANY princess, no no, no, a princess that was a Marketing Manager or CEO of an international brand, but also got married young, bought a house before she was 25, drove expensive European cars and still had money to buy anything she wanted. I wanted to have everything and that was the only way I thought I was going to be happy. I never really made any hard decision on my own when I was a child, just like walking on the sand, I followed everyone else's footsteps. Maybe because when we are younger it is easier to just follow others than think for yourself, but this can create habit and can be sometimes hard to break. I partly thought that maybe I wasn't capable of making proper decisions and that maybe the decisions I make could be the wrong ones.

However I quickly learnt that there wasn't any point in doing what everyone else did, said or told me to do, because then what would I really be contributing to the world? When I grow old would I look back on my life and say I achieved everything I wanted, or would I have done something differently? These are the questions you have to ask yourself.

It is important to reflect and make choices that YOU want to make. I encourage you to listen to the people around you, as a varying perspective of a situation can bring you clarity, but it is important to make sure that at the end of the day the choices you make are for you and what you believe is the best thing for YOU. Create your own journey by really listening to what your mind and your heart is telling you. You and only you know what is right in your heart.
